Timer Objects:

Timer object is there for representing actions that need to be scheduled in order to run after a certain instant of time. These objects which get scheduled run on a different thread that carries out the required action. We should keep in mind that the moment at which the timer is initialized may or may not be the instant when the actual action takes place. This happens because the thread scheduler schedules the thread corresponding to the timer object in python for data science.

Timer is basically a sub class of the thread class which is defined in Python. It starts by calling the start() function, which corresponds to the timer explicitly.

Creation of Timer Object:

Syntax:

python data science

Example:

python data science

In the example, a timer is there to run the function with arguments args and keyword arguments kwargs, after the passing of interval seconds. If args is not there then an empty ,ist is there. In case kwargs is empty dict will be there.

Cancelling a Timer:

Syntax: timer.cancel()

This stops the timer and cancels the execution of the timer’s action. It works only if the timer is still in the waiting stage.
